MOUAU Staff become Registered Animal Scientists

Each of the following staff of the College of Animal Science and Animal Production (CASAP) of the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU); Dr. U. K. Oke (Deputy Dean), Dr. E. N. Nwachukwu, DR. O. Okah, having satisfied requisite conditions, has been admitted as Registered Animal Scientist (RAS) by the Nigerian Institute of Animal Science. This took place during the Institute's second induction ceremony in Kano from 27th to 29th July, 2010.

The Nigerian Institute of Animal Science is a professional body established by Act No 26 of 2007 of the National Assembly, charged with the responsibility among others to prescribe and regulate the standards of academic qualification and practical skills to be attained by persons seeking to become registered as Animal Scientists.

Earlier in its first induction ceremony in Calabar, Cross River State, Prof. S. N. Ibe (Director, Research  and Development), Prof. U. Herbert, Dr. F.O. Ahamefule (Acting Dean), Dr. S. N. Ukachukwu (DOT), Dr. G. S. Ojewola, Dr. A. H. Akinmutimi (ETTC Chairman), Dr. K. U. Amaefule, Rev. Sis. (Dr) M. A. Oguike and Dr. M. C. Ugwuene were also admitted as Registered Animal Scientists and now affix RAS after writing their names.
