The Executive Members of the Postgraduate Students’ Association, Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike recently paid a courtesy visit to the Dean of the Postgraduate School, Prof. Ada Uwaegbute to thank her for her numerous support in moving the Postgraduate Students’ academic activities forward as well as her motherly concern for their welfare. In his speech, the President of the association Mr. Michael U. Ukwuru, lamented over the issue of overstay of students in various post-graduate programmes and requested that a comprehensive timetable of PG academic activities be made for each session as presently practiced in most Nigerian Universities. According to Mr. Ukwuru, this will enhance sanity in academic programmes if such a timetable is adhered to strictly. Responding, the Dean PG School, Prof. Ada. Uwaegbute thanked the executive of the PG Association for their visit and commended them for appreciating her efforts in the school. She informed the association that the Vice-Chancellor has approved the release of funds for their forth coming Public Lecture, while a forum that will bring together all those who have passed through the PG School in MOUAU is in the offing for the school. On the issue of a comprehensive timetable of activities of PG programmes, the Dean disclosed that she is already studying some timetables from other universities to ensure that the one being planned for MOUAU PG School meets the expected goals. She assured that with the timetable put in place, and followed strictly, the issue of overstay in programmes will be a thing of the past. Prof. Uwaegbute enjoined the students to be of good behaviour to reflect their status in the University.
