The Accountancy department in the College of Agribusiness and Financial Management CABFM, Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike has received Certificate of Accreditation from the foremost professional institute for Accountants in Nigeria, ICAN. This puts to rest the controversies that have surrounded that course as it pertains to its accreditation status in the recent past.

The Deputy Bursar (Final Accounts), Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, Mr Joseph O. Kalu has been conferred with the highest award of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).
