University Management approves employment of over 200 casual workers as regular staff

Friday, 1st September, 2011 will go down in the annals of history as the day over two hundred casual workers in MOUAU burst out in tears of joy when the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Hilary Edeoga announced the management’s approval to employ them as regular staff of the university. Records show that many of these men and women have been casual workers for over fifteen years. |

The sale of forms for admission into JSS1 of the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture International Secondary School is still on. A release endorsed by the Principal said forms can be purchased at the cost of one thousand naira only in the following places:

The members of the examination and time-table committee MOUAU have been commended for successfully conducting the seminar on examination conduct for students as they prepare for their second semester examinations. The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Hilary Edeoga who gave the commendation while declaring the seminar open, assured the members of the ETTC that the university management will continue to support them. |
McGill University Canada renews commitment to partner with MOUAU

As part of its efforts towards ensuring that the memorandum of understanding it signed with MOUAU brings forth very good fruits, Prof. Mike Ngadi of the McGill University, Canada recently met with the Vice-Chancellor on ways to explore and exploit the opportunities provided by the linkage for the good of the two Universities. Prof. Ngadi who spoke passionately on how to realize sound food security in the country, disclosed that sustainable food security revolves on three pillars which include; training of manpower, research-base which will be necessary to move the technology forward and service to humanity through influencing people around us positively. |
New DPO, CSP Onuoha solicits University Management’s co-operation

The new divisional police officer for Ikwuano, CSP Abiodun Onuoha has called for the co-operation of the university management to enable the division succeed in it’s fight against crime and protection of lives and property. CSP Onuoha made the appeal when he paid a familiarization visit to the vice-chancellor, Prof. Hilary Edeoga in his office. He made a case for real intelligence report to help achieve a water-tight security and described students as a very important group in the development of our nation. |
Registrar, Dr. Nwokocha extols NURSS – MOUAU

The Registrar, Dr. Azubuike Nwokocha has commended the new executive and members of the National Union of Rivers State Students (NURSS), Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike chapter for coming together to celebrate the rich culture of their home state and assured them of his support. Speaking during their cultural day, Dr Nwokocha reminded them to always bear in mind where they are coming from and called on them to refrain from all acts that run contrary to university rules and regulations. He promised that being a true son of Rivers state, he will remain a good ambassador of their people and gave kudos to the new executive for organizing the cultural fiesta. |

This is to notify the general public and the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike in particular that former Miss. Ihuoma Patrick Uwalaka, a staff of the University staff school, is now to be known and addressed as Mrs. Amarachukwu Osisi Ihuoma Patrick. All former documents bearing her former name remain valid, while the general public and the University community should take note. Also former Miss. Mbachu Helen Ngozi, is now to be known and addressed as Mrs. Obele Helen Ngozi. All former documents bearing her former name remain valid, while the general public and the University community should take note of this change.

CU – MOUAU gives kudos to VC

The Christian Union Fellowship, Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike has joined other union in the university to thank the VC for the able way he has been piloting the affairs of the university, especially his prioritizing of staff and students welfare. Speaking when the executive of the CU- MOUAU paid a courtesy visit to the VC, the President, Brother Aniedu Ugochukwu thanked the university management for granting the permission that enabled the union to be a registered Christian organization in the university and assured him of their prayerful support and loyalty to the administration of the university under his leadership. |
IBplc, MOUAU Branch donates books to Staff School

The management of Intercontinental Bank Plc, Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike branch have donated one hundred pieces of exercise books to the MOUAU staff school. Speaking while making the donation, the branch manger of the IBplc, MOUAU branch Mr. Nnaemeka Chiavoghi said that the gesture is to redeem the pledge made to the staff school during their 2011 graduation ceremony. He reiterated the bank’s support to the University and encouraged other banks, corporate bodies and non-governmental agencies to assist the Prof. Hilary Edeoga led administration in its bid to take the MOUAU to greater heights. |
