The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Hilary Edeoga and Dr. G. C. Nzeagwu have been honoured with awards of excellence by the National Association of Biological Science Students, NABSS, Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, during their 2011 induction/ lunching/presentation of awards which was recently held in the University. Speaking while presenting the awards, the NABSS President, Akanwa Franklin said that the awards were given to these two academic icons for their numerous contributions towards youth development through education in the state and the country at large. |

The University Management and the Committee of Deans and Directors have extolled the leadership and entire students of MOUAU for the maturity and understanding they exhibited when the generating sets on campus broke down causing blackout in the entire university for some days. |

The College of Animal Science and Animal Production, CASAP, recently took delivery of one unit petrol electric generating set (SUMEC FIRMAN 8000) and one unit GL 2250-MLG Refrigerator for the department of animal nutrition and forage science, courtesy of Onwuchuruba Chidi E. of the college. |

The President, Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike Women Association, MOUAUWA, Mrs. Gina Edeoga has congratulated all children, especially our pupils in the University Staff School as they join other children in celebrating this year Children's day. In a release, Mrs. Edeoga advised all children to continue to obey their parents, guardians, teachers and elders, noting that when they imbibe this virtue of obedience, their future will be good. |

The Abia state chapter of the Association of Heads of Federal Establishments has pledged to co-operate with the fourth Vice- Chancellor of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, Prof. Hilary Edeoga in his bid to take the university to towering heights. Speaking during a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor recently, the chairman, Pastor Eugene Eke reiterated the significant role the MOUAU has continued to play towards the progress of the association, especially in providing erudite facilitators during their conferences. Pastor Eke who reminded the vice-chancellor that he is one of them asserted that this affords him the privilege to request for any assistance from any federal establishment in the state. |
Registry Dept. celebrates out-gone Registrar, Dr. Adeniji

In its bid, to give honour to whom it is due and to celebrate excellence, the Registry department of Michael Okpara University, of Agriculture, Umudike on Friday 6th May, 2011, held a send- forth party in honour of the out-gone Registrar, Dr. Bernice N. Adeniji who recently retired from service. The Chairman of the occasion and the acting registrar, Mr. P. C. Nwaoma in his opening remarks, urged all to carry out their expected roles with a mark of distinction stressing that a good staff is one who faithfully obeys the instructions of his/her boss. He stated that Dr. Adeniji touched so many lives during her tenure as the Registrar and thanked the Registry department for deeming it fit to honour her. |
