- Conduct research work emphasizing planning, adaptive, technical, maintenance, developmental and productive skills in agriculture and allied disciplines at the postgraduate level. This will aim at producing highly skilled manpower with the capacity to not only improve on existing technologies but to develop new ones, and contribute to the scientific transformation of agriculture in Nigeria.
- Ensure uninterrupted programme of study.
- Conduct credible examinations.
- Ensure prompt release, publication and dispatch of results to students and guardians within one month after examination.
- Provide courteous, prompt and quality service to every student, listen to their concerns and take appropriate actions.
- Create and maintain a physically and psychologically conducive teaching, learning and research environment with a variety of facilities and equipment.
- Ensure security of lives and property of staff, students and other customers.
- Dispatch academic transcripts within three weeks of application.
- Send students’ data for National Service on demand within one week after release of final year results.
- Train and retrain staff members to appropriately meet the emerging challenges of the position they hold.
- Ensure that no extra fees are charged outside the University approved charges.
- Ensure that no handouts are sold to students.
- Provide high quality agricultural extension services, outreach programmes and on-farm adaptive research.
- Ensure that no commercial relationship exists between staff and students.
- Provide value-added products to the local communities through the food processing unit of the University.
- Increase the practical content of student training and adequate preparation of graduates for self-employment in agriculture and allied disciplines.
- Provide, equip, and maintain libraries, laboratories, lecture halls, halls of residence, sporting and other facilities.
- Offer high quality veterinary services to the community.
- Enrich the protein content of local meals of the host communities by encouraging engagement in poultry, fisheries and cattle farming.
- Reduce environmental degradation through environmental-friendly activities and consultancy services in the University community and within the host communities.
- Ensure quality health care services to all customers.
- Provide facilities and opportunities for students and staff to be ICT compliant.
