MOUAU Extension Centre (MEC)

The philosophy of MOUAU Extension Centre (MEC) is: Training farm households in appropriate technologies. The general objective of MEC is to ensure that farmers and their households receive relevant information that would increase their production capacity and improve the well-being of the households. Specifically, the Centre:

  • Interacts with farmers and their households for the purpose of identifying their production, processing and other socio-economic constraints with the aim to proffering appropriate solutions to them continually.
  • Brings to the knowledge of the   communities relevant and timely innovations that would improve their development activities and
  • Trains farmers and other stakeholders.

In order to achieve these objectives, we seek collaboration with other institutions to facilitate the build up of a pool of confident personnel who can transfer agricultural technologies to students.

Recently, the Centre established 3 model villages through which we extend MDG-style poverty eradication measures to the people. We are presently disbursing loans to farmers for various projects.
